CAMIGUIN 2011

We left CDO, the day after we had our white water rafting to visit the beautiful island of CAMIGUIN.  There is a van that charges Php 100 that will bring you to  Balingoan Port which is an hour and a half bus ride from the city. Most probably you would be docking at the Benoni Port in Camiguin which is much nearer to Mambajao where the cheaper accommodations are located.

We decided to stay at Paguia Inn, swak sa budget, Php 800 per night.  We also hire their multi-cab to tour us around the island.

Places we went to in our overnight stay in CAMIGUIN:

1.  Sto. Nino Cold Spring
2.  Soda Swimming Pool
3.  Sunken Cemetery
4.  Old Church Ruins
5.  Walkway to the Old Volcano
6.  White Beach
7.  Ardent Hot Springs
FAILED TO VISIT:  Katibawasan Falls

CAGAYAN DE ORO WHITE WATER RAFTING

E  X C I T E D!!!  My very first trip to MINDANAO!  We booked the ticket via cebu pacific in December 2010 at the PISO FARE promo, yes we were successful because it costs 202 pesos two-way (100 pesos for the tax)

We were able to see CDO before Typhoon Sendong and we felt really sad because people lost their lives in the flashflood.

Learning from our Social studies classes, Cagayan De Oro is the gateway to Mindanao, meaning on my next post you'll see our trip to Bukidnon and Camiguin also.  Anyway, what do we need to remember in travelling to CDO:

1.  Book a hotel, hostel, lodging, whatever in their DIVISORIA because it has quick access to everything: MALL, ATM, CHURCH, TOURISM office, etc.
2.  Buy lots of FRUITS...it is really cheap in Mindanao.
3.  Bring a flashlight, since they don't have much source of electricity, they often have blackouts!
4.  Take a jeep to go around the city.
5.  Contact Red Rafts:  http://theredrafts.com/  for your white water rafting adventure since they have the well-trained guides, who are funny and accommodating.  You do not want to get bored in the 80km paddling, right?
6.  Bring home lots of MARANG fruit!
